Halloween is arguably the best holiday of the year. People are in costume, there’s candy everywhere, and everything tastes like pumpkin spice. If you are as into this holiday as we are, there are lots of ways to get into the spirit.
A Ghost Tour
Ghost tours are great ways to hear some spooky stories about the buildings you pass by every day. The Haunted Walk operates all year, and other tour companies often start offering ghost tours in October. Is the Hockey Hall of Fame haunted? You’ll have to take a tour to find out!
Halloween on Church
The Church Wellesley Village is famous for their Halloween street party and people here pull out all the stops in terms of costuming. Even if dressing up isn’t for you the party atmosphere is unique in Toronto.
Haunted Houses
I think we can all agree that there are different levels of haunted houses. There are the haunted houses that are organized by local organizations where the proceeds go to a charity, and there are professional haunted houses where companies take over a local spot like Casa Loma or Canada’s Wonderland and work really hard to make you sleep with the lights on.
Bar Party
Local bars will also sell tickets to Halloween parties. The ticket guarantees you a spot in the bar and typically they’ll have themed music and drinks with names like Poison Apple-tini.
Nerd Out
When you’re thinking about halloween, there’s more than the “typical” stuff…in fact, there are places where it’s cool to be a little ghostly. I’m talking about Storm Crow Manor! Nerds, geeks and butterbeer come together for a constant adventure that will make any halloween fan want to come back over and over!
Horror Movie Festival
The Toronto After Dark Festival is an international film festival for horror-lovers. If you like watching things that go bump in the night, you’ll love some of these horror films.
