Toronto Walking Tour: Picking A Tour That Is Right For Your Trip

With so much to see and do in the 6ix, going on a Toronto walking tour is one of the best ways to experience the city of neighbourhoods.  Most of the major Toronto attractions are all in close proximity to the downtown core, so that means that walking tours have become one of the most popular ways to learn more about the city while saving time and money!

No matter what your interests may be, there is guaranteed to be a tour perfectly tailored to your needs!

It pays to research ahead of time to ensure availability and perhaps score an advance booking deal on the Toronto walking tour of your choice! There are dozens and dozens of tours to choose from, a handful of which are highlighted here! Be sure to check out the unique options at the end so you can find something to tailor a truly one of a kind adventure in Toronto!

Starting Point

When I’m looking for a tour, the first place that I search is TripAdvisor and then over to Pinterest. After finding a few options, I like to have a list of options on a google doc, separated by price/location/date/time. Why? Because every vacation/adventure is different and thus would have a number of factors to consider.

Here’s the list for Toronto

  • Tour Guys – Free and Paid tours of Downtown Toronto
  • Haunted Walk of Toronto – Ghost Tours of Downtown Toronto, Distillery District and seasonal locations.
  • Go Tours – Distillery District cultural walking tours (and segway too)
  • Chopsticks+Forks – Kensington Market Food Tour
  • Bruce Bell Tours – St Lawrence Market Tour
  • Tasty Tours – Food Tours, like the chocolate experience!
  • Heritage Toronto – Unique history tours that fluctuate throughout the city!
  • ROM Walks

Quick tips for Toronto

Do not forget WiFi! If you don’t have roaming while in the city, be sure to know where you can scoop a free connection, like at Starbucks or at CF Toronto Eaton Centre!

Comfortable walking shoes are a necessity in Toronto! You will do a lot of walking on a variety of terrain, including cobblestone. We love Vessi shoes!

Tipping in Toronto is not like some other US cities. Canadians are incredibly polite and will go out of their way to be hospitable to our guests, so know ahead of time that your gratuity will depend on the service provided.
